Day 2 Finally

So we finally got out for Day 2 and it was a fun time we got a lot of nibbles and quite a few bites despite a lot of the fish still being on the beds... We ended up with 2 perch, 5 crappie, 10 walleye (which was kinda funny because I forgot the lake here even had them in there until I seen the look on my son's face haha!) 12 smallmouth, and 22 largemouth. This time there was actually a notable discrepancy in the numbers between the two baits... All but five fish were caught on the Mighty Bite Lures! Not that it was a surprise given the size of the fish we were on the Banjo Minnow 006 pretty much wasn't gonna fly today. Up top is the average size fish we were catching.
We've got one more day of fishing this week and then hopefully we get to close the turkey season strong this weekend! If it's raining I actually plan on breaking out a secret weapon... The squealing hen call we went out last weekend and used it and they came sprinting in to it when they weren't really responding to anything else. Thanks to the lightning though we couldn't stay out to get a shot though.

Day 1 Results

So day 1 of the testing got started at 3:57 and we had forgot the camera at 4:13 when we reeled in the first fish of the day it wasn't a monster by any means, but it still would have been better for ya'll readers. Anyways the best thing I can tell anyone looking to decide between the two sets is for the little fisherman in the family the Mighty Bite Lures are the best choice they are easy to work. The Banjo Minnow 006 on the other hand is pretty good in the hands of an experienced tournament winning angler. On the other hand it wasn't that much better today than a Strike King 3X Zulu soft plastic jerkbait. All in all we ended catching 16 bass, 5 crappie,2 catfish and carp, 1 drum and bluegill at the local lake. We had to cut it a little short at 7:41 due to the big storm rolling in with lightning and heavy rain. Safety first even if they are biting good live to fish another day! Hopefully we can get back out there again tomorrow after school is out!
